Residents throughout Missoula County will enjoy much needed upgrades and maintenance to parks, playgrounds and trails – and even a new open-air skating rink – thanks to nearly $39,000 in matching grants awarded by the Parks and Trails Advisory Board.
Many of us love to see wildlife, whether on public lands or in our yards. But sometimes we don’t love some of the things those critters might do on those lands. One of our oft-used County Parks, Riverside Park in Lolo, is a beautiful spot along the Bitterroot River.
On the otherwise sleepy Saturday between Christmas and New Year’s, around 200 kiddos and their families laced up skates and took to the ice – slipping, falling and, eventually, gliding – during the grand opening of a new open-air rink in Seeley Lake.

Missoula County Parks, Trails & Open Lands Program is actively pursuing grant funds to build a trail at New Meadows County Park, located west of Missoula near the intersection of Mullan Road and Cote Lane.
