Commissioners Adopt Missoula Area Land Use Element
Effective June 6, 2019
The Missoula Area Mapping Project updates the land use map in Missoula County in the area around the City of Missoula.
After three rounds of public outreach and a year of gathering feedback from local neighborhoods and stakeholders, the Land Use Map and Designations, together called the Land Use Element, amends the Missoula County Growth Policy. This update, focused on an area of Missoula County adjacent to the city, is the first comprehensive update to the county’s land use map for this area since 1975.
Adoption and Effective Date
The Resolution of Intent to adopt the Missoula Area Land Use Element was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on May 2, 2019. On June 6, the commissioners acted on the resolution to adopt, making June 6, 2019 the effective date for the Element as policy.
